The UNT Mens Polo team is the 2023 USPA D1 National Champions, the club was formed in 2017 with the support of the Vaughn Miller family of Prestonwood Polo Club in Oak Point (20 mins from campus), the founding members were Vaughn Miller Jr, Andrew Scott & Turner Wheaton  and the club quickly catapulted into the National spotlight with early successes in the 2019 and 2020 National intercollegiate Championship tournaments, after a break from COVID, the team returned in 2022 to reach the finals of the National Championship with a narrow loss to UVA, then returned in 2023 to defeat UVA and capture the National Title, the game was aired on ESPNU.  The UNT polo club welcomes men and women of all skill levels, and is for anyone who loves horses and wants to learn about the "sport of kings." The UNT Polo club plays at Prestonwood Polo Club, in Oak Point and is part of the USPA (United States Polo Association), the national governing body of polo. UNT polo has varsity and JV squads and competes against other college polo teams in our region including TCU, SMU, Texas A&M, CSU, Texas Tech and outside our region including UVA, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Stanford and many more. We offer practices up to two times a week, with optional tournaments every semester.
